I’m a muay thai enthusiast currently living and training in Thailand.
I would like use this site to bring attention to some of the most highly skilled but lesser known muay thai fighters today with detailed analysis of their fights and fighting styles. Although some Thais have crossed over to fight in international promotions, the lighter weight fighters still do not get much attention abroad.
Strategy and Tactics
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” – Sun Tzu, The Art of War.
I will analyze specific tactics deployed during fights as well the strategic progression of the match.
“The less effort, the faster and more powerful you will be.” – Bruce Lee.
I will also break down certain muay thai techniques and distill bio-mechanical principals that make fast, powerful and effective.
The Mental Game
“In battle, if you you make your opponent flinch, you have already won” – Miyamoto Musashi, A Book of Five Rings.
Muay Thai is both a physical and mental game. I will read the body language of the fighters to try to understand what they are thinking and feeling and throughout the fight.
“It is said the warrior’s is the twofold Way of pen and sword. He should have a taste for both Ways.” – Miyamoto Musashi, A Book of Five Rings.
We can learn much by close observing the world’s best muay thai fighters. I hope through analysis, we can continue to spread and improve the art of muay thai worldwide.
I would love to hear what you think of my articles and get your suggestions on fights to breakdown or topics to analyze. Please feel free to leave comments in the posts or get in touch with me via social media:
